The Town of Bedford launched the Bedford Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) program for residents and businesses in August of 2019. The primary goals of the program are to provide competitive choice, longer-term price stability and more renewable energy options to participating consumers. The program was approved by the Board of Selectmen and the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities.
Below is a chart comparing the rates for the Bedford Community Choice Aggregation program to Eversource’s winter 2020 rates. The program began in August 2019. The new program rate will always be reflected on following month’s Eversource bill for the preceding month’s service.
Disclaimer: A goal of the CCA program is to produce savings for customers, but savings cannot be guaranteed compared to the utility’s basic service rate which change every six months for residential and small commercial customers, and every three months for large commercial customers. The aggregation program seeks to provide price stability and average savings over the full term of the program, but because future basic service rates are not known, there is no guarantee of savings.
Below is a chart which illustrates the Eversource residential rate history, Summer 2014 to Summer 2019. As referenced above, the goal of the Bedford program is to provide stability and savings over the full term of the program, but because future Basic Service rates are not known, there is no guarantee of savings.
